For this task, we were asked to team up with two other people in the class to produce a frame by frame remake of a music video. Unfortunately, me and my group spent most of the lesson deciding what music video to do because some of the ones we chose were too ambitious and difficult. First, we tried thinking about doing 'What Does the Fox Say' by Ylvis.
We decided that the music video would be okay but when it got to the chorus we realised that we couldn't use it because it would be too big budget. We then spent the rest of the lesson trying to find suitable music videos that would be easy to produce within an hour of the lesson we had on the Friday. I then suggested to my group that, with the help of Final Cut Pro and the effects that were possible, we could try to attempt to remake the first minute of 'Scream and Shout' by Will.I.Am and Britney Spears:
We were all nervous about trying to produce this because it's a high budget music video with fancy costume and we wanted to do our best in producing it. We decided that we were going to do this for definite however when it got to the day before we were due to start filming, I doubted that were were going to be able to do this. In my mind for a long time I had thought about trying to produce Azealia Banks' '212' because it's a simple music video with a lot of editing focussed.
The day we were due to be filming I suggested this to my fellow group members and they agreed that it would be much easier to make this than to attempt the Will.I.Am one. My only concern is when I watched the music video, it was very explicit in lyrics and concept but both my group members decided we could just blank it out.
We watched the music video and then we print screened each frame up to a minute to make sure that we knew what we were filming. We also managed to get the music video on one of our phones so we were able to compare what we had with the actual music video. Here are the shots that were taken before we started filming:
